As a new blogger, I'm oblivious to keyword loading and unfortunately to SEO as well. I guess in that vane, I'm at least good on #1 & #2 just by not knowing much about doing the things you say don't do. I typically write the way I speak but the backlink thing is I hadn't thought about. I am going to check out the book you mentioned because afterall, what's the point of blogging if you don't get readers or get ranked in the search engines. You make a good point man, you gotta have top notch content otherwise any money you spend on advertising will probably just be a waste.
