Jetpack For WordPress Is Finally Here
Hey there fellow bloggers,
If you’ve had your ear to the ground recently, then you’ve probably heard about the development of a new WordPress Plugin called JetPack. It’s been underground for awhile now but has finally been released to the public.
But what most bloggers are wondering is how exactly will this new Jetpack plugin effect my WordPress blog?

But what’s really interesting is that a lot of times when people first get a brand new WordPress blog or experience WordPress for the very first time, they are always confused between the difference of the .com and the .org versions of the software.
The .org is basically a self-hosted WordPress blog where you have complete control over virtually everything you do. From your plugins to your code, you have control of virtually everything. The only hassle here is you’ve got to manage and update it yourself all the time.
The .com is more streamlined, always updated, and managed by the WordPress.com staff so you never have to worry about a plugin failing or potential downtime of your blog. It’s all managed by WordPress.com and they take care of you with some extra little bonuses for blogging on their servers. Like access to some really cool Cloud-like features.
Since the dawn of WordPress.com, WordPress.org uses have always been seeking access to the newest features on the .com as soon as they launch. They wanna get them for their blog and start using the coolest new stuff too.
But unfortunately this has always been a huge problem for developers because they would have to basically code a separate plugin for the .org users to install on their blog, while cool, it was still kind of a hassle.
Thanks to Automattic, you can now have the best of both worlds. What Jetpack does at its core is allow you to reap the benefits of a WordPress.com blog while still maintaining your very own self-hosted WP blog with all the perks.

How to Create a WordPress Gravatar and How it Can Help Build Your Personal Brand Online
Hey what’s going on everyone it’s an honor to be writing my first ever guest post on MatthewNeer.com… Matt’s a great guy so first and foremost thanks for putting up this post!
There isn’t a catch, it’s plain and simple in black and white. If you don’t know how to create a WordPress Gravatar I’m going to show you exactly how to do so in the video tutorial below and also explain to you how it can help you build your personal brand online. As a quick example say you’re getting started in blogging about your passion for gardening. So you’re going around and commenting on other gardening blogs and are really getting involved in the community. You leave a ton of comments but beside your comments you don’t have your gravatar a.k.a your picture. BIG MISTAKE.
The only way you’re going to grow people’s trust is for you to really engage in the conversations and care about what is being talked about, and to show who you are! You can leave the greatest comments in the world and be the websites top contributor but if there’s no picture you will be over looked a ton.
If you look at Matt’s site here you see his face at the top of his page with him holding his skateboard. Immediately you know that this is an internet marketing page, and that Matt skateboards and is passionate about helping you with your online business goals. He’s opening up as himself and not painting a picture of what he isn’t. This is great on his part because he’s building that personal relationship with you and also building his personal brand up as the “skateboarder entrepreneur.” This is unique for him and catches the attention of many visitors.
Now if Matt didn’t have that picture up and you never saw his face I can bet you wouldn’t come back. This all applies to our simple WordPress Gravatar concept which I’ll talk a bit more about this in the video tutorial. This is kinda similar to blogging but its different because its not actually a blog. Sites like HubPages, Squidoo, and many more are more article based.
On a blog, you do have your articles and what not but you also have your sidebar, custom header, navigation, widgets and all kinds of other things. Where as Web 2.0 sites focus more on just articles. But don’t let think that limits you, in certain ways it actually gives you a few advantages.
One of the major advantages a site like HubPages will gives you is Google Page Rank (PR). This is associated with SEO, and HubPages having a PR of 6, will give it more authority in Google’s eyes thus giving it a higher ranking in the search engines.
When you first start a blog, it starts out with a PR of ZERO. So as you can clearly see, if SEO is a major strategy for you to get traffic to your HubPage articles, then you obviously have a big advantage here. In fact, I made my first sale online writing HubPage articles.
Another major advantage that Web 2.0 sites have is that they allow you to integrate money making widgets directly into your articles like Amazon products and Google AdSense among many others. This will seriously up the chances of you making money from these kind of websites because the ads are intelligent and will actually read the content of your page to display relevant ads. And you can do all this stuff totally for free…

Affiliate Marketing is usually how everyone interested in online money making without investment makes their first sale. Here’s the break down.
You need to create social followings on all major sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and any other sites that you find yourself loving to use all the time. Then in all your activity on those social media sites you drive and direct traffic back to your blog creating a massive flow of traffic back to your blog.
Then when people hit your blog you need to make a devastating first impression on them. You do that with your header. Your header needs to make a SMASHING (in the words of Gavin Mountford) first impression because that is whats going to stick in the back of their minds and bring that back again and again.
But it doesn’t stop there, you’ve gotta follow through with some solid content after you seriously impress your visitor with your banner. You’ve gotta give away some serious value, make it so that people come away with a MASSIVE amount of value and they will share your post with their friends.
Another very important thing you need to have in place is an awesome sidebar full of widgets that interact with the user. Some very popular things to display there are above all an opt in offer, usually for a newsletter or bootcamp type of deal, next you have Google Friend Connect, Networked Blogs, Facebook Fan Pages, links to other social media sites, recent comments, recent posts, archives, and all kinds of other cool stuff can go there, get creative.
