Why GetResponse Is Better Than Aweber

Hey there,

Pretty intriguing title eh? I know, I wrote it… ;)

Lol, but all joking aside, I wanna show you why I believe GetResponse is much better than Aweber for all your list management and email broadcasting needs. Since the dawn of Internet Marketing, there has been much controversy as to which autoresponder service is “The Best” on the web and right now I’m here to tell you why I think GetResponse takes the cake.

GetResponse Reason #1: Usability

It has been said in the past by many that Aweber is by far the most user friendly of the two autoresponders, but I disagree. And just for the record, its going to come down to the little things because at the end of the day, both services do the same thing.

You see, when I log into my Aweber account, it really doesn’t appeal to me all that much when I compare it to Get Response. What I really like about Get Response is that I can go to my dashboard and see a quick glance of all my stats like how many leads I generated to day, how well my last broadcast performed, among many other things.

This makes it REALLY easy to see exactly how well I’m doing with my email marketing and list building all from one screen. With Aweber, I have to click around a bunch of different times and go into other parts of the members area to see all of that data. And yes, while you can see it in Aweber, GetResponse just makes it so much simpler by putting it all in one place.

GetResponse Reason #2: Importing Form Code

This is something I have always HATED about Aweber and always LOVED about GetResponse. And if you’ve ever used the two of them, you know what I’m talking about. When I try to import form code from Aweber into a squeeze page, it is EXTREMELY difficult to do because it has all of this crappy CSS code that nobody likes in there. And its hard to get rid of, even if you choose the plain text version of the form code, it still puts the nasty, ugly looking code in there. GetResponse on the other hand, does not do this. They have a very clean form code with minimal CSS code for styling, especially if you select the plain text version.

I loved this when I was first getting started online because I could easily figure out what form code I needed to import into my squeeze pages to make them work properly. With Aweber, I struggle every single time, even though I’ve done it hundreds of times by now. It seems that the code is always changing and getting trickier as time goes on.

But with that said, Aweber’s purpose for doing that is so that you dont have to deal with code, they do it because you are supposed to just import the premade forms into your website and make them work. While thats cool, and is an easy solution to getting an opt in offer up on your blog or squeeze page, ultimately it does not provide the user with a “cool” looking opt in offer, but more of a generic, cookie-cutter form that everyone has already seen, thus making it convert lower.

GetResponse Reason #3: Affordability

This is huge because as a startup entrepreneur, you probably don’t have much capital to invest into all kinds of monthly charges. Eventually, $20 bucks here and $50 bucks there starts to add up to a lot of money and can be very overwhelming at times.

With GetResponse, you will pay as you grow, meaning you can start out with a small account and upgrade as your list gets bigger and bigger. Get Response starts as $9.95 a month for your first 250 subscribers versus Aweber which is $20 dollars per month for your first 500 subscribers.

Now you might think that you’ll need that 500 threshold limit with Aweber because its a pretty good deal and you can take a trial of the service for one dollar. But its still not as good of a deal as you might think because GetResponse STILL beats their pricing. For your first 1000 subscribers, GetResponse only charges you $18.00 dollars per month, saving you $2 dollars and getting you and additional 500 subscribers over Aweber, making GetResponse the obvious choice.

I plan to go through your link if I sign up! I’d love to get the goodies you are offering…thanks! Quick question: wondering if getresponse has the ability to convert my blog rss feed into e-mail format…so I can quit using feedburner for my blog subscribers who want the posts sent to their inbox. I can’t see it on their website…am I missing it…??? Hope so, because this is an important feature I want for my less tech savvy customers who don’t know what an rss feed is. : ) I see that Aweber has this feature…but I like getresponse better for everything else.

    Hey Natalie,

Every time you send a broadcast to your list, GetResponse creates it own RSS feed for all your emails. You can also import your blogs feed directly into that RSS feed as well so your subscribers will get your email updates as well as your blog updates all in the same place. I’ve included a link below that you can click on to see where you can check the RSS feed option right before you send your broadcast out. You can also integrate your Social Media feeds as well.

I currently use infusionsoft for my sites but I have a client that wants to use aweber or getresponse. Can you tell me if getresponse has an api for developers or any automation that removes or adds subscribers to mailing list based on certain events.

Yes GetResponse has an API and automation tools so you can pretty much integrate it with anything you’d like and fully customize the user experience your subscribers will get.
